Confronting the Past is a newly completed three-part miniseries about aboriginal adoption in the 1960's and 1970's. The series has already been broadcast twice in Cree and once in English on APTN, in October and December 2006, and in January 2007. To watch the trailer, click here.
Rajotte Productions Inc. is a 100% Aboriginal owned and operated production company located in Winnipeg Manitoba, Canada. Founded by Coleen Rajotte, a former award-winning reporter with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.
Back to Pikangikum was Ms. Rajotte's second feature-length documentary as an independent, and continues to draw attention. Rajotte Productions' first film, Jaynelle: It's Never Easy to Escape the Past, has won numerous awards and screened at many Festivals around the world -- including the prestigous Smithsonian's 2003 Festival of the American Indian, held in New York City.
Coleen Rajotte is also the co-founder/Artistic Director of the Winnipeg Aboriginal Film and Video festival, a highly successful event completing it's fifth year in 2006.
